Dream Evil

Dream Evil

We began writing songs maybe a year after releasing In The Night, and we were about to start the recordings in the autumn of 2013 but then we got Mark Black back so we put the recordings to rest. We threw out some songs and wrote new ones and planned to start the recordings in the autumn of 2014 but it was just too much else going on so we decided to wait some more. Finally, in the autumn of 2015, the recordings of the drums were made and then it was kind of a slow progress to get all the bits and pieces together. With all pauses and waiting it took about a year for the recordings to become…

‘The Nightmarish Sleep’ mini album released by Carnal Records last year is a prolog to the new album ‘In Death’. ‘In Death’ is my spiritual revelations. My inner spiritual darkness. My death dreams.

The early Norwegian black metal bands like Thorns, Darkthrone, Mayhem, Burzum and of course the Demos of Emperor and Immortal had a great impact on us. The first time I heard Mayhem was ‘The Freezing Moon’ with Dead on vocals. When the first tone came on it went a cold chill through my spine. Also, Tormentors Anno domini and Sepultura Morbid vision and Crematorys ‘The Exordium’ demo had a huge…

Origin

Origin

For 20 years, Origin has engaged a full-blown sensory assault of tight, taut, and technical death metal amplified by flashes of grindcore and groove. However, 2017’s ‘Unparalleled Universe’ sees the quartet strengthen that blueprint with a handful of surprises.

It feels like an Origin album, but its unparalleled to what you might expect if you haven’t heard us for 10 or 15 years" says Ryan. "To me, it's a true reflection of ourselves. I compare it to an action movie. Our earlier material is filled with action from beginning to end. Now, the idea is to add a little more depth and dynamics.…

The Night Flight Orchestra

‘Amber Galactic’ is a concept album in a way, although it doesn’t have a straight narrative. It’s more a collection of stories that take place in the same universe. ‘Amber Galactic’ is set in a future where humanity is exploring and conquering space, but all the space commanders are women, just like the leaders back on earth, and the men are  mostly concerned with providing the ground service and idolizing and falling in love with those superior women that are always slightly out of reach.

The space theme was my idea. I’ve always read a lot of sci-fi books, mostly because in science…

Al-Namrood

Al-Namrood

Al-Namrood were formed in 2008 by Mephisto the lead guitarist. The band is known for their Arabian melodies perfectly extreme enough for the black metal scene. Unlike any other folk black metal band from the Middle East, their music has a certain raw black metal feel reminiscent of the first wave style of black metal from the 1990s. They have not gone unnoticed having been featured on numerous major news outlets like Vice News that reported on the problems they face as a band from Saudi Arabia. Also, other newspapers like Tirto (Indonesia), Guardian (UK), Der Freitag (Germany) have taken…
