RIDDLES, RUINS & REVELATION WITH MORTEN VELAND
Due to the pandemic, this turned out to be a challenging album to make; we had to do many things quite different than we would typically do. The pandemic hit Europe with full force just a few days before we were supposed to begin the recording sessions for the album. Emmanuelle’s flight was cancelled, and she could not make it to Norway until six months later. As a result, the album was postponed by six months. Also, making videos and promo pics was complicated, and at the moment, we are still not able to tour. So it is a frustrating situation that we, artists in general and fans, find ourselves in these days.

My titles and lyrics are usually inspired by the darker aspects of life and humanity. The last year has been darker than ever in many ways, and I am sure that reflects through the lyrics as well, maybe more than ever this time.

I have always liked music that had a melancholic vibe to it since I was very young. I began to get into more heavy music at the age of 13, so eventually, I ended up with a preference for the combination of heavy and dark music.

I am sure there are plenty. At the age of seven, my best friend died in a car accident. That incident changed me a lot as a person; I looked at life with very different eyes from that moment on.

I have loved music for as long as I can remember, and I have always been a creative person. Composing and writing music seems to be something that I am not able to go without. I always needed to express myself creatively.

The Norwegian winter has always been one of my greatest sources of inspiration. This time of year always seems to boost my creativity a lot. Our winters are long, dark and cold, it might sound like a cliche, but it sets me in a focused and inspiring mindset.
