LUX TENEBRIS BY MICHAEL BERTOLDINI
‘Lux Tenebris’ is the bands first recording after a period of hiatus that lasted around three years. It is a particularly important release for us since it somehow celebrates the overcome over several obstacles that came in our paths after ‘Agnus Dei’ came out. Sonically, ‘Lux Tenebris’ represents our will to expand our sound through more layering and repetition. We wanted our sound to gain more density.
The writing process for this record has been quite different from our previous experiences. Since members of the bands now live in different countries, this time writing has been a more individual process than in the past. For this occasion, we all agreed to keep our circle as small as possible so we decided to record with our live sound technician Steve Scanu. We played those songs for the first time together in the studio while recording. This time we used the studio as a tool to further develop ideas more than we did in the past and we took more time to complete tracking and mixing.
