Hell Metal By Psycho Fai
In the course of making music, to me, there is no rules and regulations. Riffs will come in during my busy life, for example, when I’m eating my dinner, playing with my kids or sometimes when I’m taking a dump. Once the basic riff comes in, that’s where I will work on the guitar parts and record it using my phone and send them to my bandmates then they will input some ideas on it. After which we will all get together in a rehearsal room and jam the fuck out of the riffs until it became productive, headbanging and deadly to our ears. Lyrics-wise, it’s my fascination with historical facts so I would write a lot about the past sometimes I’ll dwell in the prophecy of religions.
Basic riffs are important. You cannot have music without basic riffs. Recording the whole structure is an awesome experience. We used to chop it down parts by parts but this album, we decided to go south and record it straight. No stopping for the next riffs. Our drummer, Black Ash, did a fantastic job in nailing the drum parts. We entered TNT Studio, Singapore, and told Ah Boy (sound engineer) about our vision and he suggested to record the rhythm guitars and drums first while the lead guitar, bass and vocals come in on the next track. We are confident doing that than chopping it down. Guess the next one will be similar like this album in terms of recording style.
