Life without art would be meaningless
My name is Federico Bossinga, I’m currently 28 years old and I live in La Plata, Argentina. I started on my own when I was very young, I was like 14 if I remember correctly. I started playing around with some low-quality image editors until a friend introduced me to Photoshop and I fell in love instantly. Then I kept learning different things about this beautiful piece of software, but everything I learned I did on my own, so I can say that I’m 100% self-taught.
Heavy metal was a natural choice, I grew up listening to metal and I have always been interested in the album artworks. I started working for local bands, friend bands etc. Just as a hobby, I wasn’t taking it too seriously. Until a friend of mine introduced me to their band Warbreed and they asked me to design the artwork for their upcoming album ‘History Undone’ which came out in mid-2008. That was my kick-off project, even though I designed websites and pieces of artwork for other bands/clients. Warbreed was my first “professional work”, so to speak. And after that the snowball started to roll.
Symbols guide the project and allows to reach a more accurate result. In some other cases I’ve seen many people trying to include symbols just because they think “they look cool” and they don’t even understand their meaning, symbols should be respected!
I always try to learn for all my works, I try to push myself and my ideas further and further to get to the goal. Sometimes it’s easier and in other cases it takes time, but I always feel like I’ve learned something new and useful when the work is 100% finished!
My goal is to create meaningful pieces of art, something that carries a message behind it. Since this is my voice in this life I want to be heard!
