The Mastery of the Unseen By Sense of Premonition
Invocation (Chile), born in late 2015 A.B. and has endeavored to combine influence from the most chaotic Death Metal with the eternal darkness of occult and ritualistic Black Metal, after a couple of months the band began to compose material for their first demo cassette, one of the first offerings was “Devout Effusions”… After this, the “Single Advance “Emanations” was released limited to 333 copies in CDR with a colored red cover, this was spreading all over South America and some foreign maniacs. Around March “Godz ov War” productions from Poland sings Invocation to release the first official demo, professionally manufactured and limited to 100 copies known as “Seance Part. I” Demo, it contains 4 prayers; “Emanations”, “Pendulum”, “Devout Effusions” & “Hypnosis”. In April 2016 A.B. the band prepares to record two new tracks entitled “Medium” & the instrumental “ZoZo” for a South American re-release by Destruktor Records, During 2017 the band enter to Equinox Media Studio to record 2 tracks for “The Mastery of the Unseen” and executes the demo in many underground gigs and cities like La Serena, Rancagua, Melipilla, Curico, Temuco and Osorno, The Mastery of the Unseen” was released by Iron Bonehead Productions in September 17, 2018 (Limited to 300), the same year the band perform alongside amazing acts like Wrathprayer, Slaughtbbath, Hetroertzen, Atomicide and Magnanimvs. In June the band enter the studio again to record 5 brand new tracks for “Attunement to Death” MLP to be released via Iron Bonehead Productions in late 2019, In September another version of “Seance Part. I” was released via Hypnotic Darkness Records (professional cassette). In 2019, the band was invited to play in Mexico City for “Total Death over Mexico Vol. II” fest alongside Funebrarum, Krypts, Interment, Venenum, Force of Darkness, Drawn and Quartered, etc. and was invited again for a mini-tour entitled “Into Dark Domains” with Funebrarum, Denial and Beastiality from Sweden being a nice success…
The band is composed by three black entities, very old friends with clear ideas, in our first rehearsal we downturn our guitars/bass and the first track ‘Devout Effusions’ born immediately, then came the name, the logo, etc. So, over the last years, we were able to refine our sound into what we call “ritualistic and hypnotic black/death metal darkness”, but beware, there are still many mysteries…
Our last release is entitled ‘The Mastery of the Unseen’ this EP included two tracks; a fast black/death metal one ‘Ouija (Mystifying Oracle)’ with excellent atmosphere and a mid-tempo heavy track entitled ‘The Spirit Trumpet’ with a lot of changes and slow/fast parts with dense vocals and lyrics about the spirit voices that talks through a médium in a spiritual ceremony. I think these two tracks were really influenced by all the South American scene of the eighties, some raw and direct riffs with sinister vocals, not so technical indeed, but full of feelings. I think this EP offers both a strong musical as well as a strong visual presence in relation to the cover art, in which both fit together rather well.
Our interests are with paranormal themes and the search of evil spirits through Invocations, the psychological, spiritual and traditional background behind this and the control of different kinds of médiums in which you can attempt to contact evil spirits and the ancestral voices. We choose our music as “the medium”. In some passages of our songs you can find a very hypnotic atmosphere created by the communion of our instruments and the voice of an obscure demonic possession, so, clearly, this creates a “whole”. We want to approach more to this paranormal topics, moving away from hackneyed anti-Christianity.
It’s all about our music inspiration, I can write tons of books, movies, artists, philosophers, etc. but, We think music must prevail, we’re very influenced by the old South American sound and image of Vulcano, Mystifier, Sepultura, Sextrash, Bestymator, Mutilator, Expulser, Dorsal Atlantica, etc. mixed with the some foreign Death and Black sound of Demoncy, Teitanblood, Cultes Des Ghoules, Pseudogod, Necros Christos, Dead Congregation, Embrace of Thorns, Grave Miasma, Temple Nightside, Malthusian, Possession, Irkallian Oracle, etc, etc. Anyway, Invocation’s music has their own vibe and atmosphere, this two elements in communion with the artwork creates a formidable mix in that our listener can experience all the magic of sound and can be transported to different ways in search of the correct entity…
If metal still dangerous? Of course!, even in the deepest south American underground, things have not changed, metal is still dangerous, blasphemous and hateful, you can find extreme bands with the occult and fast sounds, and of course with a chaotic staging. Sometimes you need to leave the internet. Find and open your fanzines, write letters, and look at those xeroxed flyers that you have stuck on the wall, that’s where the real underground breathes
