Let The Soul Spread Its Wings By Yuriy Sakhnov
We are a Russian heavy/power band from Yekaterinburg. Constant members of the band remain Yuri Sakhnov (vocals) and Alexander Rudenko (guitars). Currently, drummer Vladimir Kosovskikh and guitarist Yevgeny Shipunov also play on a permanent basis in the group. Discography includes the EP ‘Victory’ (2015) and LP ‘Let the soul spread its wings’ (2018).
The latest release ‘Let the soul spread its wings’ is our first full-length album. We’ve been recording the songs from autumn 2017 to summer 2018. The album was released by the Finnish label Inverse Records on November 30, 2018. In this album, we moved away from Manowar’s true heavy canons, which characterized our previous album ‘Victory’. The musical basis was the melodic power metal, but this time it is presented in a somewhat humorous way, interspersed with elements of disco, ethnic, acoustics. The bands of the 70s had a noticeable effect on our music: folk melodies kinda Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Slade, rich vocal harmonies kinda Queen, Sweet, Smokie. But at the same time, we tried to make the sound as up-to-date as possible.
Perhaps the decadent lifestyle is our main source of inspiration. For many, both for performers and listeners, power-metal is a kind of escapism method, a specific remedy for the hardships of life. In fact, these very hardships of life inspire creativity. When everything is good and there are no problems, there is no inspiration.
