Lykaia By Joel Ekelöf
‘Lykaia’ is an album that is based on personal experiences and is very sincere. It is about closure with our former lives. Our past albums were more conceptual, but ‘Lykaia’ was more of a purgation. The recording process was analogue and without unnecessary cutting and editing. In all good music there is an element that can’t be controlled or calculated. The magical part that perhaps comes from a higher power. You must be careful not to edit that out during the process. A lot of inspirations of course but nothing in particular that stand out worth mentioning just for this record.
The artwork was made by Alvaro Cubero, and the design was made by Martin Hummel Gradén. The Tellurian cover was very detail-rich, and this time perhaps more reductive. The idea is that you either flee like a wolf over man’s scent or you follow his scent like a dog. Or you can be an individual man that walk the wide and inner way. Today it feels more relevant than ever before.
