Black Screen: The Movie's Artwork of Nino Cammarata is a bold, visually stunning anthology of over a decade's worth of work by the acclaimed Italian artist. From Blu-ray and DVD special edition covers to alternative film posters and official artwork for American and European distributors, this book celebrates cinema through illustrations and art. It captures Nino's evolution as an artist—his hyper-realism, minimalism, rich symbolism, and painterly storytelling—all inspired by a lifelong passion for the silver screen.
Black Screen is more than an art book. It's a personal statement, a love letter to cinema, a portfolio of visual storytelling that blends modern technique with timeless homage, and a chronicle of one artist's obsession with film, light, and the magic that happens when image meets emotion. Inside this beautifully printed volume, you'll find:
- Over 150 artworks spanning 2016–2025
- Alternative movie poster designs, Blu-ray/DVD artwork, and unpublished concept pieces
- A visual evolution of Nino's signature style—from minimal to maximal, from noir to neon
- Commentary from the artist on his process, philosophy, and passion
Whether you're an illustration fan, a devoted cinephile, or a collector of cult and classic cinema, Black Screen is more than just a book—it's an invitation into a world where films are reimagined through the eyes of an artist who treats every poster like a story waiting to be told. This collection isn't just about admiring beautiful artwork; it's about rediscovering the emotional pulse of the movies you love and seeing them from bold, new perspectives.
About the artist
Born in Sicily in 1983, Nino Cammarata's career is anything but conventional. Self-taught and fiercely driven, he carved out his place in the global art scene through work in comics, graphic novels, music merchandise, and variant covers for major publishers. But in recent years, his focus turned to film. Since 2021, his movie poster and home entertainment artwork have exploded, gracing limited edition media releases, theatrical promotions, and pop culture art books for cult films and TV shows like Ace Ventura, Machete Kills, Hellboy, Mondo Cannibale, Dracula, Alien, The Crow, Hellraiser, Hannibal and more.
